Born in Hvitträsk in 1910, Eero Saarinen stepped into the US when he was 13. He was a part of the Cranbrook Academy of Art in Michigan since his father was a tutor there. Sculpture and furniture were his passion. His interest in architecture induces him to opt for a course at Académie de la Grande Chaumière in Paris in 1929. He pursued his architectural studies at the Yale University till 1934. After a 2 year tour around North Africa, Europe and Finland, he returned to Cranbrook academy to join as a tutor there. (more…)
